Easton Area Community Center
This non-profit as a 70+ year history of providing for the underprivileged and doing so while making the programs and facilities accessible to the family in price, and extended hours. They have a dedicated core of volunteers who reach over 500 kids during the year, with around 100 students coming through the doors during the summer camp program. They charge 20% of what those in the surrounding area charge and offer the exact same services: 1 field trip a week, pool visits, and special guests/programs to entertain the kids.
Keep the same standards as in the past-keeping the cost low- is strain on the budgeting and fundraising programs. They try to combat this through a gala event end of year, ticket sales for sporting events, raffles, auctions, car washes, golf events etc. but there is always a shortage when it comes to the final cost for the Sumner camp.
