Across the country, many of us are at home, feeling helpless in the face of the COVID-19 crisis. Social distancing is flattening the curve, but we can do more. In the coming weeks, millions of Americans will receive a stimulus check to help cover their living expenses, pay for food, and to support local businesses during the COVID-19 pandemic. Some of us may not need that money right now, giving us the opportunity to redirect these funds to local charities that are supporting members of our community who need it more. If you are able, please consider pledging some or all of your stimulus check to provide food, social services, and personal protective equipment to members of the San Francisco community. Your donation will support the COVID-19 relief efforts in San Francisco led by the San Francisco-Marin Food Bank, Safe & Sound (Child Abuse Prevention Center), and Homeless Prenatal Program. San Francisco Marin Food Bank

The San Francisco-Marin Food Bank continues to do the day-in and day-out job of making sure vulnerable neighbors get the food they need. Now, they are putting solutions in place, one by one, to be able to continue providing food and helping our community prepare for whatever challenge the COVID-19 presents. Every $1 provides 2 meals.

Homeless Prenatal Program, Inc.

The Homeless Prenatal Program is a family resource center in San Francisco that empowers homeless and low-income families, particularly mothers motivated by pregnancy and parenthood, to find within themselves the strength and confidence they need to transform their lives. They serve over 3,500 low-income and homeless families annually, providing a variety of programs and services to help families become healthy, stable and self-sufficient. In the face of the COVID-19 crisis, Homeless Prenatal Program is providing families with emergency food bags, drug store gift cards, diapers, formula and other items for families in this difficult time.
