American Civil Liberties Union Foundation, Inc.

Founded in 1920, the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) is a nonprofit, multi-issue, 500,000+ member public interest organization devoted to protecting the basic civil liberties of all people in the United States. Recognized as the nation's premier public interest law firm, the ACLU works daily in courts, legislatures and communities to defend and preserve the freedoms guaranteed by the U.S. Constitution. The ACLU Foundation is the 501 (c)(3) arm of the organization.

Free Software Foundation Inc

The FSF is dedicated to promoting and defending computer users' rights to use, study, copy, and modify the software on their computers, as well as the related documentation the FSF assists in the development and use of Free Software and documentation

The FreeBSD Foundation

The FreeBSD Foundation is a 501(c)(3), US based, non-profit organization dedicated to supporting, promoting, and building the FreeBSD Project and community worldwide. The Foundation gratefully accepts donations from individuals and businesses, using them to fund and manage projects, sponsor FreeBSD events, Developer Summits and provide travel grants to FreeBSD developers. In addition, the Foundation represents the FreeBSD Project in executing contracts, license agreements, copyrights, trademarks, and other legal arrangements which require a recognized legal entity. TheFreeBSD Foundation is entirely supported by donations.

The Tor Project Inc.

The Tor Project is organized and operated exclusively for scientific, charitable and educational purposes within the meaning of section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, including (a) to develop, improve and distribute free, publicly available tools and programs that promote free speech, free expression, civic engagement and privacy rights online; (b) to conduct scientific research regarding, and to promote the use of and knowledge about,
such tools, programs and related issues around the world; (c) to educate the general public around the world about privacy rights and anonymity issues connected to Internet use; and (d) to carry out and conduct such other activities related to the stated mission.

Mozilla Foundation

The mission of the Mozilla Foundation is to improve and protect the Internet as a public commons, by working with thousands of volunteers to (1) keep the Internet a universal platform and (2) promote continued innovation on the Internet.
