About

Children are our hope. However 43 children in the U.S. are diagnosed with cancer every day (as per St. Jude's). Little federal funding is allocated to pediatric cancer compared to adult cancer. The advances in pediatric cancer research can alter the therapies of that of young adults and influence adult cancer. We would like to set up this fund to help Dana Farber Cancer Institute fund novel therapeutics for pediatric cancers, especially for liquid tumors like Leukemia.

Founded by Sidney Farber, the father of chemotherapy (who pioneered treatments for children with leukemia in 1947), Dana Farber Cancer Institute has led breakthroughs in cancer research and patient care for over 70 years. In addition they pioneered and actively follow the concept of patient-centered care where all services for the patient and family – expert clinical care, social work, nutrition, integrative therapies and counseling – are provided in one place.
