Black Lives Matter Fund

About

Bright Funds stands in solidarity and support with Black communities across the United States. We are committed to empowering the activists, donors, companies, and nonprofits that are playing an ongoing role in ushering in a long overdue era of dignity, security, and equality to Black communities. Bright Funds has established the Black Lives Matter Fund, composed of pre-vetted nonprofits working in various areas of reform to end racial discrimination in the criminal justice system and address the overarching systemic injustices facing the Black community in every corner of society. This special Fund was created to reflect our deep belief and commitment to a world where Black lives are no longer systematically targeted, and where justice prevails. Through a single tax deductible donation to the Fund you will support a group of nonprofits that are part of the movement to fight for freedom, liberation, and justice for all Black lives.

The NLG is dedicated to the need for basic change in the structure of our political and economic system. The NLG Mass defense program is offering pro bono legal representation to protesters. Their aim is to bring together all those who recognize the importance of safeguarding and extending the rights of workers, women, LGBTQ people, farmers, people with disabilities and people of color, upon whom the welfare of the entire nation depends; who seek actively to eliminate racism; who work to maintain and protect their civil rights and liberties in the face of persistent attacks upon them; and who look upon the law as an instrument for the protection of the people, rather than for their repression.

Southern Poverty Law Center, Inc.

The Southern Poverty Law Center is dedicated to fighting hate and bigotry and to seeking justice for the most vulnerable members of our society. Using litigation, education, and other forms of advocacy, the SPLC works toward the day when the ideals of equal justice and equal opportunity will be a reality. The Fund for the Movement 4 Black Lives

The Movement for Black Lives (M4BL) is an ecosystem of 150+ organizations and individuals creating a shared vision and strategy to win rights, control and resources for Black people. Building on the legacy and strategies of past movements, M4BL has created a broad political home for Black organizers, activists, and their organizations. Our ecosystem is held together by our dedication to bravely driving toward collective liberation and a value system that fights for the most marginalized amongst us.

The Fund for the Movement 4 Black Lives, housed at the Common Counsel Foundation, supports M4BL’s mission and ecosystem. Your gift will provide critical resources to the M4BL ecosystem as we mobilize toward a shared agenda that confronts destructive systems, generates alternative frameworks for governance, and realizes a future in which all Black people experience true liberation. With the support of donors like you, we have moved millions to bolster and fortify the work of ecosystem organizations since 2021.
